I saw Chicago probably 13 or 14 years ago (way before I knew about Lakland's existence). It was one of those outdoor summer shows that I never would've went to if I hadn't been invited by a group of friends. I was blown away by the bassist's playing AND singing ability!! He's phenomenal!

would have to be an older one then...they no longer make the -01 series deluxe.....BUT they do make the -02 series in deluxe...

anyways - the quilting is usually worth the extra coinage....I have 2 (oops...I mean 1:ninja:) deluxe body (Amber) and love it....MOST other deluze owners would say the same...

Correct sir. Its an -02

The models confuse me a bit. I normally don't like natural but that one at bass emporium is nice, barts too!

I should have warned you (did I???) to have Carl epoxy the neck before you got it.....I was having a similar issue (those are stainless steel rounds).....Carl sanded the neck and epoxied it and wallah!!! no more issue...there are a few "minor scrapes on the epoxy but NOTHING like before...also - the epoxy can be redone without touching the neck wood!!

also - anoteh hint...what "bending the string" for mwah...don't "bend it" roll your finger from side to side...same effect (takes some practice) but NO rubbing on the board (advice from Carl)....

I should have tried that... Maybe there's a way to do that locally -seems to be NBD compared to other luthiery stuff

Bending - I ain't doing that, I promise! Slidin' back and forth, just as you're saying

THAT is the bass that introduced me to Lakland...well at least watching that bass on a Chicago DVD did.....I had to keep pausing the DVD to see the name on the headstock....I soon was hooked....

Not sure if he has that one strung BEAD or not....he does have a "limited edition"....35" scale 4 string strung BEAD.

Great story! reminds me of myself when I was younger. Well, not really. I still do that)))

So, the 35-inch 4-string, it has some index of its own like 'XS' or something, doesn't it

As hinted at 2 months ago, and (finally) paid off in full & picked up yesterday. My new Skyline 44-02 Deluxe in Natural Translucent! Not flashy, but I love it ... and find I'm having a hard time putting it down. :hyper:

I must've tried out 15-20 basses, and even though I liked a few, I couldn't bring myself to plunk down a deposit. Once the shop owner brought out this 44-02 and I played it for a while, my search was over. Budget couldn't swing a US-made 4-94, so I had to "settle" for this Crafted in Korea Skyline instead. :hiding:
