Yes, it will just be this jazz and the short scale Decade, which will hopefully be ready this Summer. I have sold too many nice basses, but it was fun to try different things. Now, I've think I've settled down.;)

these basses are AMAZING, i have never been a fan of the jazz width neck, but with the 1.6 neck is SO comfortable. is yours as heavy as mine is?? it actually feels good to me.

I believe I've heard that Tim C. prefers and asks for heavy basses, even though a shoulder (IIRC) injury requires him to use an ultrawide strap to spread out the weight.

And, 1.6" is my preferred nut width too, for 4 bangers.

Ok, so you guys know me and my preferred music style (Third Obsession stuff), and you also know that I have done some fretless fusion instrumental stuff too. Well, w/ Third Obsession falling apart more each day, and the fusion thing evaporating as well.... I've found myself VERY bored lately. And when I'm not using gear, the urge to liquidate GROWS. I don't wanna sell my babies!!

So, I got asked to try out for a metal band that also needed a singer. I learned a couple of their tunes (from vocal-less tracks) and went to jam w/ 'em tonight. I found the music interesting enough and fairly fun to play. They practice regularly and gig regularly, right on page w/ me and my goals. Also, it's very apparent that it'd be A LOT easier to use my 4 strings due to the odd tuning and use of open strings. This is a HUGE plus since most of my Lakies are 4 strings, and don't see any real use w/ the other bands, when we're actually doing something that is :hmm:.

They had the "possible" new singer come by tonight too. He's a screamer and growler, the type of vocalist I friggin' hate!!!! In fact, that trend in metal is what actually turned me off to that style, over 15 years ago.

The band said I've got the job if I want it. So, here's the question: what do I do? Grin and bare it and be playing gigs w/ my Tele in 2 weeks :bassist::hyper:? Ask the main guy if they "have" to go that route vocally, and tell 'em what I think? I mean, who am I to walk in and start asking for changes, right? Or just decline the job and sit in my basement w/ my dusty Lakies and work on my classical guitar lessons?

I'd just tell them how you feel. If you don't like it now...you won't like it later. Ultimately it will be best for them too. They don't want someone that isn't 100%. The best feeling is jelling with your band, and sounds like that isn't possible with the screamer.

That being said...I wouldn't sit in your basement with your dusty Laklands. Put some ads up. I know you will get a bunch of calls. You're a bass player for hell's sake! Tons of bands lust for a good one! The music world is your oyster!

I would ask them if thats what they are looking for in a vocalist, or if thats just that guys style. But if your not into it, i would hold off. Im sure the right situation will come along for you. Just keep checking craigslist and asking around. bass players are always in need somewhere.

i didnt know you play classical guitar, i have a SICK Yairi W/ Spanish cedar top and burled mahoghany back and sides, sounds amazing!!

I hear ya, but this kinda singer does seem to be the norm for their style :hmm:. I think I'm the non-compatible one.

Very true.

I did warn them that if my band got a vocalist and got back on track, that my time would have to go to them.
