LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #44

NICE!

She's bought me about three basses since we've been married and we've only been married for three years.

1. Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn 5 natural/rosewood as a
wedding present which I returned for a Lakland Skyline 55-01
natural/rosewood.

2. Lakland Skyline 55-01 natural/lined fretless as a
first anniversary present which I sold to purchase
my EBMM Bongo 5 single H.

3. EBMM Bongo 5 HH as a second anniversary present.

4. Carvin B5 (#2) jointly purchased by my wife and parents for
Christmas '09.

Since I'm a full-time bass player, there is justification for equipment purchases and support from my family.

That, I did not know...thx!

so how do 5501 and 5502 fit into that "product code?"

01 - released in 2001, 02 released in 2002 ???? this is an assumption
I'd say that's a pretty safe assumption, since the second pair of digits is year-based in the rest of the naming scheme.

A couple examples for those who may not know: The 4-76 is Lakland's--very rare--version of a single-humbucker Stingray, and the 44-07 uses Chi-sonics, which were developed in 2007. I think "Midas" is called a 55-CS because it's passive, whereas a version of the 55-02 or 55-94 with Chis that includes the Lakland preamp and all the controls would be a 55-07.

Yeah...I'm sure they're stock Laklands. Have you tried Dunlops nickels? (I know...I push them all the time, but they're killer)
I gets lots of delicious zing when I want it with my ChiSonic equipped J bass. I think you need to change the stings.

I have been a stainless man for 20 years but reluctantly tried the Dunlop nickels on Goblin, after MUCH pressure ;) from Markus. I must agree that they're spectacular!! Oh, and they're cheap!
