Well, I put the usual Rotos on my G&L/Moon main bass, but the bass tech couldnlt get the E right and he thinks it's due to the Rotos - he has an excellent reputation and has done good work for me before, and he tried another string (X-something) and it didn't buzz.
So now I'm considering trying out new strings after all these years, and, not hijacking this thread wtih string talk so will have to find a better area for that.
Took your advice and found Dunlops in the same gauges, but he was out when I got back so I won't know until next week when he redoes the set up with them.
One concern is that on the package it says "low tension", where I need pretty high tension....
In keeping this Lakland, I put a set of Rotos on my Decade and like it better than with the stock Lakland strings, but feel there is probably something still better that suits my gorilla-like playing.
I was never the same after watching a Steve Morse instructional video in the 80s on how he practicies, and somehow applied that to my Rocco fingerstyle manner and as a result play with higher action and will eventualy blow out my fingers and wrists one day......

I think you are now officially the King of Glaub. If you picked up a LOG bass, you'd have the title sealed... you could use it as your beater bass or something
