I'll admit to a certain hankering for something in Markus Orange as well.

I also think that the $3k deposit that I sent to Sadowsky two weeks ago has kicked my general taste in basses up by about $2k, so my next long-term bass savings will definitely go towards replacing my 55-02 with a US Lakkie... if I can get those beautiful MTDs out of my head, that is.

Serious props to Markus and the other designers/fabricators/team. Not blowing smoke, just my opinion. Pure Class. And you're welcome Markus.

I'm pretty picky about stuff like a finish. I bought my forst 55-02 in Amber because the Doude had convinced Lakland to do a run in that colour. I'd almost laid down my money on a natural one when Doude PMed me to say they were doing amber.

I don't like most sunbursts or solids. I like the candy cola on my Fender P because it goes nicely with the maple fretboard, but that's about it.

Now, if I had a non-deluxe 55-02, I'd send it off to get it painted exactly like the old Music Man Blue Dawn. That was a solid that got me right in the mojo.

I liked that Mai-tai burst we saw a thread or two ago. I'd do that one in a Montreal minute.

Thanks man! Markus Orange was the only color I came up with....the rest were already there when I came around. I'm with you though...I love them all too! I still want a burgundy mist something! Now I have GAS!

Oh yeah...I did come up this Mai-Tai burst too! Here it is...Pat Wilkins laying down the killer finishes as always!
