The elusive 5 string P/J Lakland. That's on my list.

And...last page...last day of 2011. Happy New Year's to all of you Lakland family members. (I lurked for post 1000 in the last thread...too "tired" from last night's festivities this time!)
 
Markus, does Lakland's excellent shielding job mitigate the hum compared to other bass brands w single coils?

Yes...I'd say as good as it's going to get. You'll never have a silent bass with single coils being favored....and hot single coils...fugetaboutit!

I believe that depends on the model. On my bass (US model, passive), they chose to do it old-school (no foil), so the CS gave lots of noise and hum. Adding copper foil cage helped A LOT. I would recommend copper foil for CS singles, yes.
