100% passive bypass...bypasses the entire pre-amp...really a "hail mary play" if the battery dies or other issues arise....

Call it what you want, but it's not a true passive bypass. lol

It only bypasses the EQ, not the preamp. If you pull the battery out the bass will not function. There are basses and preamps that do bypass the preamp completely and can run with or without a battery in the control cavity. :)

Hm. That explains why pulling up on the knob doesn't conserve one's battery...

I stand corrected...thought about this when I was in bed - the LH3 is a "TRUE" full passive bypass...NOT so with the MK1.....

The brown driver will know him REALLY well....

ahahah well some come in FEDEX Ground too? LOL :)

Hey while on the subject up shippers...
Not bashing or anything, just stating the facts.
Last week I bought the Scheff and the seller wanted a postal M.O. overnight-ed.
So I used USPS to overnight the M.O.
They went and misplaced it and after much hassle and on the phone we finally found it out there in postal limbo and it got delivered several days late.

The other day I sold off one of my basses on my Lakland quest.
The buyer this time wanted to send me a postal money order overnight. I went along with it to keep things smooth for my buyer.
Well, he chose USPS to overnight the money order to me.

And GO FIGURE?

The USPS went and actually kept the overnight letter in his same state in a different city and actually had it on a truck to deliver it to god knows who in Cleveland?????? Ummmm I live in NY, Hello MCFly???? Not Cleveland!:eyebrow:

It is still out there in postal limbo as we speak several days after he mailed it and paid $20 for "Overnight Express".
Who knows when they might find his money order and get me paid, and get his bass shipped.

So just passing this info along to all you Lakland clubbers who might be "Overnight-ing" funds for bass purchases in the future...
My Advice? Use fedex or UPS overnight letters instead and pay the few scheckles more.

I walk away from any deal in which the seller won't take Paypal. I have only been ripped off twice with online purchases and both of them were with MO's. If a seller doesn't want to take a sale with some security for the buyer than I won't deal with them.

Depends... I've dealt w/ some LOGers who I know and trust well enough to do any kinda deal.

Could anyone tell me if the Skyline 44-02s has always had the LH-3 pre amp? Such as, if one has bartolini pups would it still have the LH-3, or would it have a Bart pre?

Bart pre. And the 02s w/ Barts will have the (general opinion) less desirable Barts since they switched from the "good" Barts around 2001 I believe.

The Scheff arrived safely.
Gotta say you where right Doug, this thing is very cool! :)
Feels WAY more like the US bigger brothers than expected.
Has a great tone range and killer ooomph, snarl and burpage. LOL :)
Fun bass...
Might wanna grab a black pearloid or other funky cover for her...Jeannies?
