Well, if you keep the parts they remove, then sell/trade them in the Classifieds on TB/LOG, you can help offset that $400 out of pocket expense. I know I got a steal when I bought "Scheff Guts" (electrics, pups, and knobs) from a JS model that had been reworked by someone with a Scheff. So, there are folks out there with projects.

List them and they will sell for some amount.

I'm more curious about the how it will sound by mixing the LH3 pre and Bart Pups than the resell at this point. I would do the install myself to save the money and shipping.

Hey guys, I picked up a 55-01 a few weeks back that has a Bart NTMB 5.4 pre & MK1 PU's. I love the feel of the bass especially the neck. I have gigged it 4-5 times now and just not feeling the the tone. I have been using my G&L 2500 primarily and love the tone but always struggled with the with the string spacing. I can get aggressive with the G&L when needed but not the 55-01. Where should I go with the 55-01 to get more out of it? RumbleBeeAL suggested that I go with Chi-Sonic. I have listened to the sound clips and like what I hear. How do you think the Chi's with work with the Bart pre?

Have u tried maxing out the gain trim pot inside the control cavity? That might make a big difference
