they are sweet!!! Yup! Leave MIAs in the dirt and sweat!

soo...WHY did you not leave the store with it???

I thought about it, but I just bought a new 55-94 about 4 months ago. But, I will get myself a DJ within the next 6-12 months. I just need to wait and justify my expenditure.

there ya go!

that Grey is awesome!

I saw the US Grey DJ that was going to DJ (just before he "left Lakland for that "other company")...and it was killer! I Know these look the same....

very tempting...very...

Jes Sayin'...the wife jes said "NO way!".....oh well!

Win some, lose some..... I cant decide what I want in trade... a Skyline 3tsb and RW board Glaub.... or a Skyline trans burgundy hollowbody... Somebody make my mind up for me!!!

Who has got some experience in comparing these two basses?

I played a Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones yesterday. Wow, this thing was awesome, it was heads over heels better than MIA Fender Jazz basses, and possibly the best jazz type bass I've ever played.

Hm. I have a 2008 MIA Fender that's better than any Skyline I've ever personally played, but I'll meet you halfway on some of the older MIA Fenders vs Skylines.

I played a few DJs and always liked the zing and liveliness of them, though. They practically slap themselves. Aesthetically speaking, I find the upper horn to be inelegant, but the overall size and form of the body's a fairly nice take on the J bass.

yup....that one makes you stop in your tracks for sure...

Had a Skyline BG4 and LOVED it....got rid of it when i got my US BG5PJ....have only played a few HBs for short periods of time but am always impressed when i do...

HBs are more "rare" and harder to come by so i would say go for the HB...BUT it all does depend on what style of music you are playing (to a degree)

Jes....I agree...I could actually slap (well pluck/pull) half way decent on my DJ4 ...and I cannot really slap at all....

Thanks! The build quality on this bass is incredible!

hope to get to play this one someday!!!

yeah, I think that, in terms of tone and... I don't know what exactly, but 'slappability' is a good word for it, the DJ is probably one of my favourite slap machines. They just seem to beg for it. If I had endless money, a US one in Markus orange would be on its way to me.
