It's strange, but when I practice or just noodle around I cut out the mids pretty drastically. At the show though, I found myself pulling out one of my IEM's just to hear my cab!
Well I can say Chi "buckers" are amazing in an active bass.
I love me some Chi "buckers" in the 44-07.
My first Lakland, and pretty much what made me kick most of the non US Lakland basses out of my house.

I've lusted for the Sea Monster for awhile, and almost missed seeing it available. Been pretty busy of late and not able to keep up on TB. Thankfully JJ and I worked out a win/win for both of us. It's certainly going to be be a painful wait!

I am pretty sure they made maybe a dozen or less??
But they should know more about the limited number that were made and the story about the 44-07.
They should have kept making them IMO...I like it better than the 44-94.
I have only personally seen 2.
Mine and the other one that belonged to 3-4 of the LOG-ers and recently was sold by Gary.
44-01 with Nordstrand DC and passive V/B/T/T.
55-01 with Carvin Rad-J pickups.
Interesting and cool pickup choices. Did you stay with the stock preamp on the 55-01?

You just don't get along with white basses do you? I would love it, but I'd have to sell BOTH of my basses. Not to mention I'm gassing for a particular Warwick...
I was offered one of those blonde thumbs with the rising sun inlays, flame maple board. I have played one before, rare and beautiful! Plays like a dream too!
