NICE! That'll be a fun project.
Looking forward to it. It's pretty filthy though, it needs a good cleaning

Wow! That looks like you have some work cut out for you. Cool deal regardless, have fun - I know I would.![]()
Definitely. I'm hoping Marcel can hook me up with a bridge. Everything else is easy to source.
This should probably be the first post of every new LOG thread![]()

Does anyone actually own a USA AJ 4 or 5? Even more curious if it's a color other than the red or charcoal. Also, does anyone think that Lakland got too ambitious on the price on those?
I saw an amber burst one at the plant when they first came out....it was really nice!
I think many US ones are getting fancy wood tops.
When you say ambitious....what do you mean? I think the skyline versions are about the same as a 5560....I have not priced out a US one....

A church I've been involved with for quite a while puts on high production Christmas services every year. I've played in the last 3...they're now posting stuff from the 2013 services. There will be a few more in the days to come.
Here's the first song that I play on, a 7 minute medley http://vimeopro.com/substancechurch/christmas-2013/video/86373102
So be warned: It's church tunes, and there are lots of people and lightsnot your most humble Christmas service, but it sure is a blast to put on! Oh, and LAKLAND CONTENT!
The US ones are over $4k stock. Seems over the top to me.
The price on the Skylines are fine I guess. The problem is that, unlike the 44-02 and 55-02, Lakland does not use the US electronics in the Skyline AJs. They use the cheap Bart MK-1, which is not good IMO.
I just haven't seen any US versions around and I suspect the high price is the primary reason.
$3600 for the 4 and $3920 for the 5 according to Lakland.com, and I assume a dealer would give a discount. Not bad for a US Lakland J bass with the LH-3 and a figured top, IMO.
So you were quoting list price? Come on, man! We all know that is meaningless.Bass Central has the list price at over $4k. Not sure what the street price would be.
I don't think Lakland sells a lot of them relatively speaking.
