My 55-01 wiring matches this schematic. Pot layout in the drawing is reversed, but the wiring is the critical part.

I have to say that the stock 55-01 killed last night. I'm really second guessing replacing the electronics. At this point, I do not see the need. The 55-01 and the 55-02 both sounded great. I have to say that using the same channel on the SM9.2, both basses sounded distinctly different. The highs on the 55-01 were not harsh as so many people mention. I ran the eq's on both basses flat and just used the blend to adjust the sound to the song. I am amazed how well the 55-01 can imitate a PBass. The 55-02 is the Swiss Army knife that we all know , but the 55-01 has the ability to be just as versatile once you learn how to use the controls. You can't go wrong with either bass.

4th one back, black body: those pickup routes are on top of each other, I wonder how that sounds
I have deleted the questions I have about the HB30. Doesn't seem to be much info here on the latest run of them. I will receive the bass tomorrow and also put an inquiry into Lakland I will update when I have more information.

If you look carefully, it looks like there is a painted rout where a 4-94 would have the bridge pickup. I bet that is a 3 Chisonic bass.
I see it now. It appears one of our own might have had an influence?

Is that a Scheff I see ninth from the front? Looks like a lipstick pup on a shoreline gold body between the black and natural basses.
Hi Lakland peeps. I've finally got another older 55-94 coming my way after foolishly trading my last one. I love the original Barts as I feel they are part of the classic Lakland tone (and work amazingly well with the 35" B string) but I'm curious what people's experience has been with searching for more of a grinding, single coil growl. Not über bright aggressive like the Duncan's but more passive grind. My favorite sounding pickups have been the Sadowsky single coils (DiMarzio?) and the F bass pickup/preamp combo is pretty unbelievable too.
It definitely looks like one. That said, I have seen basses on that Skyline rack that are not new, but rather old ones that are protos or in for repairs/mods. That rack sits close to the benches of a couple of the techs.
The US rack is in another spot on the floor about 50 feet away.
Right, those could be some of the ones sent in/dropped off for work. I don't think I've ever seen new US ones on the Skyline rack. The US rack is two stacked shelves against the wall (more out of the way) with the tuners protected by plastic and a label on the side of the body indicating who ordered it. I suppose they could have an unusually large number of US basses in progress at the same time.
I own an '05 55-94 that originally had Barts. Very smooth and hifi. Didn't like it and swapped to Lakland/Hanson system. I feel the Lakland pickups with LH3 preamp sounds really good and natural. The passive tone is nice and throaty with that 'old Fender' vibe while in active mode it just sounds like a louder version with very usable eq points.

Last time I was in the shop Carl said "There has been some interest based on your bass" I told him I had shared it with some of the LOGs on talkbass, but I assumed it would be one of his Carlo basses. He didn't actually confirm that another triple was being made from him or by Lakland.
