The ad copy says 55-64 Classic. If their terminology is correct, that would be a USA Classic Series, right? So just like this, except with a P pickup at the neck and a pickguard? Now it's possible they don't mean that series.

I don’t think they make a 55-64 Classic series. At least I don’t see it on the website from my phone.
I know.....but who knows what they decide to do.....with everything in house now....they can do anything.
That being said, most likely this is one of the special order from Sweetwater.
That's what I thought too but Sweetwater's are relic'd. Essentially the same though. This must be custom.
It has overseas Hipshot tuners, so I assume Classic.
Lākland’s website shows the US Series 5ers having Ultralight tuners, not the standard large Hipshot HB1 open gear tuners like the 4 string US Series.
There's Hipshot Licensed ultralights and Hipshot USA ultralights... currently, the USA's are marked "Hipshot USA", and the licensed (imported) ones are marked "Hipshot" (this has changed over the years, my '99 55-94 tuners are not marked at all, but there weren't licensed hipshots then...)

Well, with that info, I’d say it’s probably some custom classic that they produced. I also looked at the serial and it looks like a classic serial. I think US series basses would begin with “BG” for the serial. I know US series 44-60 and 44-64 begin with “JO” and “BG” respectively.

... The BG5 I had was serial 5BG07... but it was from 2009
Even new ones are still the same, from what I’ve seen. My 44-60 is recent, (2021 per the pots, I bought it new in 2023). It’s JO916. Looks like Classics all start with either “J” or “P” for the 60 and 64, respectively.

Yes, it still the price of a new order (being a Classic) sans the 8 months wait.
Those were all "relics". Maybe the original owner got them to pull this one out of the sanding tape before it got destroyed like the rest of the batch.
Like I said, if it is a Classic, it should be around $3k. No USA Series has LIC Hipshots. I wouldn't want LICs on my $4k+ bass. And unfortunately it's not a simple change. As documented here, the headstocks in USA Laklands are too thick to accommodate US Hipshots, and they need to be recessed.
