Lakland Owners Group #69

Honestly I don't see a HUGE difference in used prices between the Classic and USA 44-64's. I think its because people aren't willing to spend hundreds more for what equates to small hardware upgrades. I would put them both in the $1800-2100 range. You can sometimes find a Classic a bit lower if you watch and wait.

Great seeing you on here, Ferg… a LOGer from way back! :-D

Speaking of longtime Lākland guys… I’m going to show the latest strap made for me by John Jarmuskiewicz at Gecko Leather Works. It’s not for a Lākland, this time, but John has made matching straps for more Lakland basses than we can count, over the years. So, let this pic slide and share your Lākland/Gecko pics. I’ll be sharing mine as I find them.

Wow-miss her. It was a Skyline DJ5 blue…Marty Bell refinished and I modded. It was a great sounding bass. Sold it to a guy in SF. I've a few more picks

They’ve got the 44-02 as well. The back is all black. I’m disappointed in that. Thought it would be a burst as well. I like to see the wood grain. That’s what kept me from buying a 44-02 sunburst deluxe with the quilted top. I know it’s just the back, but it should be just as nice as the front.

Was also hoping the fretboard was ebony. It says rosewood. And the color is less vibrant on the Sweetwater pics. Hmm. I’ll wait and see.

I agree on the solid color backs... But that's how they keep the prices down I guess

The sales engineer in that link is my guy at Sweetwater, Nich Magnani. He is great quick to respond, not pushy, doesn’t blow up my phone and is very knowledgeable. Great guy. That is a very special bass, but I’m not feelin the purple.

I agree. I'm not sold on the finish myself.

But I will agree that Sweetwater is absolutely awesome.

They are the dealer of choice for many churches including mine.

They do a great job of assisting you without overselling.
