I had It plugged in as I poked around , but I think the springs were still wedged in with the pickup.
I don’t recall trying that when I took the pickup out to investigate.

Well, it was the springs! I could make the problem better & worse by how the springs were positioned-tightened against the pickup!
After replacing them with foam, all I'm left with now is a tiny "tick" when I touch the strings or bridge. MUCH better than what I had before.

Popped up in my memories. Life pre-covid seems so quaint and charming. Back when venues would book you for a whole weekend and even provide accommodations.
A tiny tick? I didn’t read through to check but did you say that you made sure your gain pot wasn’t maxed? The way I read “tick“ was the thing that happens when you touch something really, really, electrified (don’t make fun of me for my ignorant phrasing)

Yes a tiny electrical tick when you touch the strings or bridge. Gain pot was partially up as well as maxed.
This is much better than before. The buzz is gone. That was the important part.
I’m not that concerned about it at this point, because I had the same type of “tick” on a bass for 35 years.
Could it be improved? Probably, but it’s something I’ll chase down another day.

Tracking is live, it’s ‘moving’, but it’s just going around Chicago (yes it hasn’t left the city in a month), so it’s not lost at least.
Lakland have been great so far and are looking into it for me.

There is one post office in Chicago that handles all incoming and outgoing international packages. It is probably STUCK there!
I had a package from Canada (record cleaning kit) that sat there for weeks (almost 2 months).
That is probably where it is.
still frustrating though.
USPS sucks, but I've had luck using www.missingmail.usps.com - it seems like it gives them a kick in the arse...
