Lakland Owners Group #69

Link Removed (has the sig. on the headstock) refinished in satin Sonic Blue

I run a Line 6 G50 into my effects board and from there into my Ampeg SVP-CL.

From there into a Crest Prolite 2.0 power amp which feeds The Kraken - otherwise known as the Bergantino NV425.

Here's a few songs for how it sounds in the mix!

5 days ago I briefly joined this fine club, but the bass in question (a 2009 Indonesian 55-01 previously lined fretless, but subsequently re-fretted by its last owner) unfortunately arrived with a faulty preamp: the mid-control didn't work and the refret / nut re-heighten job could have been done a lot tidier! This meant that I had to return it yesterday as fast as it had come!

However, today I found an ex demo - 2005 Korean 55-01 -still with the protective plastic on its pickups and back control plate for cheap. So, fingers crossed, in a few days I'll finally qualify for entrance here! ;)

Peace,

Rob.

Several weeks ago I replaced the stock pickups in my Skyline 55-60 with a set of EMG J5s. This past weekend I got to use it in a recording session. Man, this thing sounds killer now! So happy I decided to go forward with the mods. It was a harder rock type song and I ended up using the 55-60 through a Carvin BX250. Had the "drive" on about 6, DI level to 4, Compressor to 5, Contour set slightly to "scooped". At the same time I had the neck pickup full on with the bridge at about 30% and the tone control rolled off about a quarter. Nice, throaty, gritty recording tone. Perfect for the song I was tracking.
