I would contact Leo or Brian at Lakland about it if you want to replace the whole tuner, Lakland basses use a tapered shaft.

Otherwise, you can try and contact Jason at Hipshot and explain that you bent the key and just need a replacement part for a US Lakland - he might be able to sort you out and save you a couple of bucks in the process.

A little tip for new and previously loved basses, put a dab of 3 in 1 oil on the height adjustment screws and intonation screws on the bridge. This will prevent corrosion due to sweat and other things that can drop on the bridge. Screws on bridges have a tendency to be very hard and thus more brittle. If they get any pitting from corrosion, you might not be able to make adjustments because the head will strip.

Thank you. And yes, that RW/Pearl combo is not as common as the maple version. And this one's fun because of the PJ conversion along with some other nice upgrades lihe USA Hipshot tuners, East DJ Retro pre and Nordstrands in both positions. IMHO, in this form, this thing will give most any J-style boutique bass a run for it's money.

Ya, they're awesome guys. I love the band and fun music to play. The gig is hell on drummers though. Really high energy and never a break for them. I actually split/sub the gig with another guy. This year, the other guy has been out with them for most of the spring. I should start jumping on some spot dates this summer.

I am from Milwaukee and my wife went to college in Waukesha so I ma very familiar. ...saw them when they were not "famous" yet

Music is fun to play and - like you said - full of energy!

Like G-man said..."...I had no idea you were their bass player..thanks for hanging out here with us mere mortals..."...and if i have problems with a BoDeans lick, expect a PM! :)

Not me....:) I know that for sure...and the music industry is ALOT of " ...right place at the right time..." I am sure they auditioned quite a few bassists....how long have you been with them?

I'm good friends with acoustic/BGV/second electric player. I actually never auditioned, which is good because every audition I've ever done I've never got the gig. Most of the gigs I get are via friends that know me.

I had played with Sam (not LLanas) at the church we both attend here in Nashville. Got a call from him back in March of last year for a string of summer shows last year starting in May. Got the material, learned it, showed up to the first show walked on stage and played. The only rehearsal I got was a 45 min. soundcheck.
