Lakland Owners Group #69

FINALLY!! Got to take my modded 55-01 fretless to rehearsals with my band Link Removed! Three new songs that are begging for fretless! Sounded so good!! The drummer wants me to use only this one from now on! LOL!

How did you mod yours? I swapped the pickups and preamp in my spalted 44-01 for USA Bartolinis and an Audere classic pre, and I've been very happy with the results.

Lined fretless **-01s seem to be real unicorns - something not stocked so much as special ordered. I have a 3TS 44-01 in Chicago right now for a fretless neck-swap at Lakland HQ because I couldn't find one new anywhere else. It'll be getting the full electronics upgrade too when it lands back here...

I made some videos of my 55-02 with Seymour Duncan Basslines. Not to show off myself but to show off this awesome bass. I'm no bass extraordinaire. I plan on making more soon. Enjoy!

Really great playing. I think you underestimate yourself. Great example of what this bass can do. What's your signal chain for these videos?

Here's a few videos I recorded as well with my 55-02. I don't think they're as good as yours, I'm seeing some left hand technique issues as I watch them back. But I had fun making these. Pardon my bass face.

US Bartolini MK5 set replaced the stock pickups and I sent the bass to Chicago and had an LH-3 preamp and fretless neck installed.

Really great playing, brother. I just checked em out and liked them! Just wish your bass was a little louder! MORE BASS!! LOL

Flats aren't recommended to be strung thru-body. The sharp angle over the saddle can cause premature fatigue of the string.

Has anyone here tried D'Addario Chromes flats on their 34" (4 string) Lakland through body?
The long scale strings have 37" winding length. Wondering if I need super long (38") or not.
