Lakland Owners Group #69

those are awesome!

good plans...sans the slaying of any innocents!:atoz::cool:

My Decades. I think there'll be a new (non Decade) this year. Either a HB so I can stop thinking up ways to get Markus' involving the slaying of innocent hobos or a 44-51M. Or on the outside a Geezer.

Is the consensus thru the body or thru the bridge on 55-94/55-14? Also taper B or no taper B?

I had tapered strings on my Fbass BN5 and some say it allows better transfer of vibration, but I switched to non-tapered strings and haven't noticed any difference other than the saddle for the B needs to be a little higher to allow for string clearance.

As for through the body or not - again, I haven't noticed a difference.

There's also the consideration of needing to do a string change mid-show. Although the Lakland bridge is not quick release, you might save a few seconds going top mount, YMMV of course.

OK Pot! LOL! Yeah...biz-ay!

My new bass is a parts bass!....Well, at least for a couple more weeks, then through some of Carl's Voo Doo magic I'm told it becomes a real bass ;-)

.....my drummer still remains skeptical that this bass exists. I told him some of my friends on Talkbass saw the neck and body sitting in the shop. Now he has to believe! Either way, I should have some proof soon!

Carl Pedigo basses are ALWAYS a myth.....unbelievably good basses....

Just got a new 55-14!!! Looking for the best sounding and brightest SS strings with a great low B for a 55-94/55-14. Suggestions please???
Lakland SS? Daddario Pro Steels?
To me strings sound different on every bass, and this is my first new US Lakland. Any info would be a great help, thanks!
:bassist:

well....what about the Lakie SS that are on it?

I like Marcus Millers on my Lakies....give them a try.
