Yup, that's the one. I'm sure it's a fine bass but the issues for me is I have an eight piece Motown/Soul band that plays the occasional corporate semi formal event and I just can't see playing something that, like I said, looks like it was dragged through a barn. I mean I don't wear fake pre-worn out jeans either. But I'm sure is sounds great. Ibanez makes good stuff. My son has one of Ibanez's 5 string bassesYou mean this Ibanez?

This bridge pickup, a little dirt, and a little chorus, makes one heckuva monstrous tone...even with the fake wear.

Well that makes 3 of us- c’mon Lakland, you’re losing sales hereI use it for acoustic gigs into my little 2x8" amp just because I don't have an acoustic bass and my other 5 stringers will look out of place. It works ok for that but I'd be all over a hollow-body 5 string if Lakland made one...especially if it was 19mm spacing.
I understand the bridge issue with the tension increase of the 5th string. Warwick made it work but it' a semi hollow in that the bridge and the pickups are bolted to a center block. Lakland, and other manufactures need to get the engineers on this. But the bottom line is the bottom line though in that it would probably cost a lot to develop a 5 string hollow body that would have a limited market appeal.Well that makes 3 of us- c’mon Lakland, you’re losing sales here![]()
I've asked about that many times... There is an issue with the string tension and the bridge not staying seated.
I wish as well

That’s a lot of R&D for a super niche product.
If they had a bigger market share, I could see it. But until they get a major artist that wants it, it will probably never happen.
What about the US DJ5?Yup....
I texted Leo.. basically " no plans" was the response
What about the US DJ5?![]()
