Lakland Owners Group #69

Wait! Does this bass crap out late in the third set?

This one just gets it's wind after the second set

Here are mine!
On the left is a 2006 Skyline... Bob Glaub? I’m pretty sure this was before the model name change... or is it a 44-64 for the sake of consistency (or because it’s always been a 44-64?)? Either way, it’s a wonderful bass. I had come to a realization that a P bass was the sound I was going for, and not much later had an opportunity to buy this. It’s one of those basses where even just picking it up for the first time I knew it was special. It’s very full toned- it’s been described as piano-like. A bass player friend has a few Fender USA P basses and they just don’t quite have the “it” this bass has. I should take a pic of the back some time- it has some nice chatoyance.
On the right is a recently acquired from TB 2011 Skyline 44-60 Custom Limited Edition w/ Chi-Sonics (I think that covers it...). I love how this bass looks- it pretty much ticks all the boxes for me. And I love the “jazz bass +” tone. I have a MIM J which is good, I just always thought it could have a little more fullness/character, and this covers that nicely. And it plays like a dream!
For one of the first times since I started playing bass, my bass GAS is basically gone.

Great basses - and I learned a new word today!

Hey gang. Im looking for a close up of a Decade control cavity. Preferably with single coils. I think my '08 US has been tampered with and I have an obnoxious ground loop Im trying to fix. For some reason I have a stereo jack and I think my pickups are wired backwards.

If you have one and and a few moments to pop the hood and post a pic here, I would greatly appreciate it. Extra thanks if you can verify if you have a mono (one flange) or stereo jack (two flanges).

If yours is an active version the extra flange is probably to make the battery connection to turn it on when the jack is inserted. I don't hava Decade but I've seen other basses wired like that.
