The update: Physically, it's going well: Strength/endurance is coming back and coordination is much better. Though none are yet what they should be. I remember more than I thought I did. Or... at least my muscles do. Still have huge gaps - For each time my hands magically did something I didn't 'know', there are other times I've drawn big blanks. Getting my Ear back pretty quick. And Music Theory is still boring. But I have a lot more discipline than I used to. So I haven't wandered off.

/excuses_excuses_excuses- Note: Lakland were kind enough to sell me a replacement bridge from B stock at a discount. I got the shipping notice within the hour: If you need something, definitely contact them.
Duly installed. And, while I was in there, I sanded underneath the bridge a little and put a small piece of copper shielding under the ground wire for better contact. For the record, it was impressively filthy down there. Set the nut to 20 thou off the first fret - Not a hint of buzz. Relief set to about .008, per Lakland's spec. Got the action to 1.5mm at the 12th. Again, little/no buzz. Though I do play somewhat lightly. Setup is a known rabbit hole for me: Please help me to not keep digging.
I didn't like the amount of treble hiss if I turned up the knob on the original, so I had ordered replacement electronics from Nordstrand. Somehow, a set of Zen Blades ended up on the ticket, too. {I wonder how that happened!}
{Vol/Act-Pass, Blend, Tone, Switchable 400/1K Mid, & stacked Treble/Bass} I'm going to whine here that the wires they use are very fine and hard for my barely experienced @$$ to work with - Smaller than my wire stripper. Had a repairman come to the house the other day, so that was my excuse to "work from home".
I also have a new set of knobs on order, since the ones I put on there don't really fit any more.
So - Yeah, things are going pretty much As Expected

A little more aggressive/focussed sounding than the OEM Barts. Definitely a thoroughly modern sound. The preamp stacks the Bass and Treble controls, adding a Tone knob. I thought that last might be nice for working in passive mode. That's not the case, but it is nice for adjusting the overall sound to something closer to a vintage vibe.

That "modern-ness" is what kept me from them at first... may look somewhere else if the Heavy Hitters don't work out. (If they ever get here...)
I am a previous owner of this bass! I put in Nordy Fat Stack pickups and a Glockenlang three band preamp and the Sadowsky knobs. I see that at least the pickups have been swapped. Loved that bass... sad to see it go but luckily I have other Laklands to keep me from getting too lonely. It is easily identifiable due to the Dunlop flush straplock installed on the bottom side of the bass which I can see peeking out in one of your pics.
Edit: Just realized... @PraiseBassing was the buyer when I sold this bass 2 years ago! Glad to see it's in a stable home.

This is the same one! The Fat Stacks were nice pickups! Loved the mids on them! Needed a little more bottom than they offered tho.
This bass isn't going anywhere!
I'm very curious to hear your opinion on the Carvin pickups in there. You don't see (m)any Lakies with Carvin pups.
I like them, but could use a little bit more mids out of them. I think the Heavy Hitters will do it for me. The first riff in this is just the 55-01 with blend centered. Then adds in pre amps and drives.
