I’m waiting on my USA 44-64 to be finished any day now, since last Friday put me within the 90-120 day build time.
I have a question for you guys? Which Hipshot tuners does Lakland use on that bass? Do they use the vintage style, or the ultralites? When I ordered the bass, I requested that they make it under 9 lbs, and preferably under 8.5 lbs. So I’m hoping they’re putting the ultralite tuners on it.

In theory vintage, long stem. If you want UL”s I strongly suggest calling them direct and stating so before they drill the headstock.

OK, so I just took ownership of a 2008 Skyline 55-02 (Korea) in very good overall condition from a terrific TB seller. Couldn't be happier with all that. And I am excited to give this one a go because it's one model I have not yet owner. Had a 55-01 but I think this one may suit me better and seems 'right' as it sits stock.

I have not yet had time to give it my normal thorough and thorough once over and servicing. It has the USA Lakland pickup set and preamp. I think that's the same electronics package that the USA models had, correct? I have not looked under the hood yet but the first things that I was aware of is that the volume control has no taper. It'd full on, then if I roll off about 15% it's a good as off. From off, I have to roll up until nearly full on before I get signal. Might as well be an on/off switch at this point. I replaced the battery with a fresh one just in case and that had no impact.

Anyone have any experience with this? I assume it will come down to a simple pot replacement. Are those available from Lakland directly? They're not board mounted so an easy fix if so. But there is also the switch to contend with...

EDIT: This may be a common 'thing':
