Thoughts on Lakland Skyline Decade basses?

I’m waiting for a used short scale decade to pop up again. What do you think? Is that one yours?
Yes I am looking at it now. Got it for a decent reduction because there are two real small paint chips missing in the neck socket. The neck is wider than the 44-64 Custom PJ (which is 1.5" at the nut). I like the Chi Sonics and the bass sounds great and is comfortable to play.

This bass tortures me... So beautiful.
I have never played a 34" Lakland 5, but I bet it is like butter.
I’ve had 35” 55-94s, a 35” 4 string 4-76 (45-76), 34” 4-76, and 34” 4-94s, and most other models too.

Of all the ones that wore a B string, I think my current super slim necked 34” 4-94 (BEAD) has the best B of all of them, so far. That doesn’t mean the 35” basses had bad ones. But, somehow this neck must be stiffer. Stiffness/rigidity, in my opinion, is super important when you want a solid non-buzzy B.

Maybe someone can help me. I was asking myself what pickups are in my Lakie, Skyline Joe Osborn, serial number 08, so 2008. Im the third owner of this bass. I think that they are laklands or aeros, but it has white and black cloth wires.

Yeah, i did the poopy shielding job lol.
I don't remember what kind of wire my Aeros had, but they did have the Aero logo on the bottom of the pick up.

I took off the still-new Lakland nickel strings from my 5560 (too zingy, seemed a little scooped in the mids) and put on a set of my slightly used DR Sunbeams. Much better :) I feel like I can now use the J retro to enhance the tone instead of "correcting" it.

It was about time for new strings on my 5594 so I put the Lakland nickels on it. It tends to be a bit tame in the highs with strong mids so I'm thinking it could be a nice match.

I’d bet they are Fralins. That’s what my JO5 has, but it’s a decade older than yours. Lakland pickups have black and red leads. Aeros have black and white leads but they are not cloth.
