So first, the company that makes it is Henry Heller. Here is the link to their website and this bag. Instrument Gig Bags | Henry Heller Music There is a bit of a mark up on the Lakland end, but you do get a beautifully done Lakland embroided logo. As for the bag itself, it's sturdy and protective for a gig bag. Definitely much more protective than the other Lakland gig bag that was sold. The handles are leather or pleather, I am not quite sure. There are 3 nice size pockets, certainly big enough to hold some cables, a tuner, sheet music and my Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig. There is a sturdy insert around the perimeter that provides nice protection and stiffness. On the inside, there is an extra piece of cushion but it it not velcroed in, it just floats freely. The neck support is ok. That has velcro to secure the neck. My Lakland 44-02 fits nicely in it and it provides good protection. And it's light.
My other gig bag is a Gator Transit bag. I would say they are similar in protection (though the Gator does not have an insert that surrounds the bag for stiffness). A plus for the Gator is that the shoulder straps can be zipped away. On the Lakland bag, they cannot. Other than that, they are pretty comparable.
I ordered this through Reverb and Bass Central. It was shipped directly from Lakland.
