lakland serial numbers??

is there a way to date laklands by there serial numbers? i have a skyline dunn p bass with this serial number: 06051092

any chance the first two digits are the year?

any info would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

I would agree the first two digits are the year.

My Duck Dunn is S/N 0704XXXX I got it direct shipped from the factory in July 07.

My 44-01 is S/N 0604XXXX The person I bought it from said it was a 2006.

In fact, the 55-02 I had was S/N 0202XXXX. According to Dan, that was one of the very early 2002 model 55-02s.

Correct - the serial # dating I noted applies to the Skyline series, not US made basses. For US e-mail the shop with your serial #, they will give you the scoop.

I was starting to wonder about the USA thing. My USA JO was #135. Just three digits.

i just bought my lakland 55-02 last week.
serial number is 06015050
so that means 2006 january???
but i got it from bass central saying its brand new and also it has lakland electronics.
does this mean the construction was done in 2006 january and final addition of electronics, etc were done at a much later date?

Maybe it was New Old Stock? You know, never played, but older.

i thought the new lakland electronics only began in 2007 tho but mines new with 0601

my new to me 55-02 is numbered 05xxxxxxx. it has lakland electronics and was bought new by a tb'er in april '07. i assumed the serial number was put on the neck, but (like fender) the necks are maybe made first and dated and used up slowly?

the neck MAY be a year or so behind....as an example, my DJ4 is a 2007 but the neck is a 2006....

The new Lakland pickups and pre were released late 05 early 06.

2006. The first two digits on the Skylines indicate the year of
manufacture

clarification.....Skyline serial numbers use the years as the first two digits....I believe US models are sequential.

I believe the 55 is the series and the last two digits refer to the number manufactured....you MAY have the 18th one made....
