Lakland Skyline News!

This gives you an idea of what the Teal Green Metallic LE Skyline's will look like. This one is a US PJ though.

Yeeeeee Markus, excellent pic. This is it... wow, I say.... WOW. I have just ordered a greeny JO B&B. But... Duck Dunn's is suuuuuuch a good bass. Rosewood fingerboard looks brighter than DJ's, doesn't it? Just like my Duck Dunn :eyebrow:

What 'bout ya Markus? Which one are ya gonna buy? ;)

for those that have already ordered, any word on the actual cost? Only thing I saw in the thread is list price and estimates for street price (unless I scrolled too quickly)
Generally speaking, Skylines' street prices have been 30% less than list. I can't guarantee that's exact, but it'll get you in the ballpark.

It's all in the lighting with these metallic finishes. Here's another shot of the same bass, on Bass Gear Magazine's site:

What a difference the name on the headstock makes. If this were a Fender thread, it would be overrun with complaints about a price increase...kinda like the new anniversary Jazz thread.

..I play Lakland...

HA, you should check out my Hot Rod owners thread!! Early on, I had to report a so called Fender fan, who was constantly hating on our basses! Seems like (for some) the "FAN"atacism only applies to their bass and only if they got it at a price that they can be happy with :rollno:.

If Fender stood by their products like Lakland does, there'd be less "grumblers", IMO. I'm the third owner (I think... maybe 4th) of the Skyline Decade 5 string prototype bass. I'm having an intermittent pup/preamp issue, Lakland is going to replace whatever parts: pup, pre, maybe both to resolve the issue at NO CHARGE!!

You could always pull a Hendrix and just turn it around…

I know there are structural "problems" to this, which may be more prominent with a bass than a guitar, but… well… it's an option.

I've pondered this before...

I always play passive basses wide open: all volumes and tone full on. So, if I was a lefty, I'd play passives and shave the pot posts off (w/ them full on of course :D) and drop them into the recess. Then I'd install an extension bar to the lower (now upper) horn for the strap, to alleviate neck dive issues, like Thinderbird owners sometimes do. Problem solved :D and nothing looks cooler than a lefty pulling a Hendrix :bassist:!!

I don't think it is aggressive at all. It is not a color I will buy, but I think it's cool.

Normally their color runs are in quantities of 30. That's why lots of times you go to order a Skyline and there may be a delay on getting the color. With the other two colors that means they are ordering almost 300 of each Signature. That is aggressive for what they have done in the past. I think it is a sign that they are selling well.
