Lakland Thunderbird?

Brian got back to me and is getting more info. I also took a screenshot of a higher definition video and it 100% has fret markers and also the body contours look a little different than the prototype bird. IMO it is a second LaklandBird.

your right, i couldnt see them on the crappy youtube video, that is a different bass all together, that one looks to have a pickgaurd also.i wonder how hard it would be to get lakland to make me one:D
 
I heard that John was working with Lakland right before he died. I have no verification on this.

This bass was to be a tribute to John’s custom Fenderbirds, but when John died the project was canceled. This is the prototype, briefly owned by Steve Barr, and now owned by private collector.

Measurements for this prototype were taken from a Gibson Thunderbird I would borrow from my friend’s store whenever my Alembic was being repaired. The bass was sent to Lakland for this project."
