Laney RB3 Hum Problem

I have a Laney RB3 combo that was given to me by a relative that no longer plays due to the effects of a stroke. The amp seems to work fine except for a fairly annoying hum that occurs whether there is a bass plugged into it or not. Since I have no idea what is causing it, would it be worth having a tech take a look at it and fix it?

It’s hard to know how much it will cost to have it repaired without an estimate from a good tech. It could be a simple fix, it could cost more than the amp is worth.

Pay for half an hour of bench time and get a written estimate. Often this cost is reimbursed if you go ahead and have the work done.

Could have been sitting awhile and need basic cleaning.
Or it has small issue which could need fixing. Like loose input jack needs solder or basic cleanup of board grounds from sitting in humid or mouisture high places.
Tech have do some of this

Could try the old unplug replug effects loop jacks and inputs million times to clean them. Its combo so headphone jack is good try too. The speaker might get bypassed by the jack for headphone use good clean or sometimes tech might have replace the jack.

And twiddle all the knobs full rotation.
