Lap Steel Bass

I am a Thereminist who struggles with a Sgamisen, Balalaika who just bought an electric Bass and a Lap Steel. Does anyone on this Forum know of a dual neck Lap Steel that is a Six String and a Four String Bass ! How do I find a Bass Luthuer who will Craft for me a Lap Steel Bass that incorporates dual independent outputs electromagnetic AND Pizeo-Acoustic ? Sorry for all the stupid questions; but can anyone out there tell me about the dual neck ACE PRO that has Six String and Four String Bass necks ? Last nuuuuubie dumb question ----》is there a Four String Bass that incorporates String "Benders" and/or sympathetic strings ? Oh, for what it is worth, I am also trying to learn to plsy Thd Scottush Highland Bagpipes Thanks for reading my first Post

I know nothing of which you speak - but you've got me thinking if I can string up my SX lap steel with bass strings. this would make a greta thread if we can get any response to the instrument segmant.

I have seen threads about 28"+ lap steels here Steel Without Pedals : The Steel Guitar Forum

and occasionally pop up on reverb, could ask about custom build.

But how much lap and pedal steel have you played? I find anything over about 23.5" difficult to play scale wise.

As a bass luthier who also plays pedal steel, I might be interested in building something like this.
It would not be inexpensive given the R&D, but doable.

John Paul Jones was credited with lap steel bass (among other basses) on the album he did with Diamanda Galas in the 90s... curious if anybody knows what specific instrument that was.
