I think that if you can afford an Alembic, there is no excuse for not having a hard case. I won't even take my Ibanez outside without a SKB case.

Every Alembic comes from the factory with a hard case. In fact I have a separate hard case for each of my basses. I also have a gig bag, a soft case with hard sides, and a double gig bag for those times where I prefer a gig bag to a hard case (most of the time).

Count the basses, count the cases.....( this is an old pic, the little guy in the middle is gone and there are four other non-Alembics in it's place)

I tried out an Alembic Mark King yesterday, and the body seemed uncommonly large, which coupled with a really long neck made it a big bass. However it was comfortable and well balanced......

yup....pretty much what my 5-string is. In fact, when I ordered it, I ordered as a Mark King, with Series II electronics and other goodies.

i had a Burns marquee bass a few years back and it was huge and heavy.
Three pups, selector switch, various knobs.... a bit confusing but certainly unique.

with all these exotic units being shown here, how about a plain old Japanese Takamine 4 string that is 53.5 tip to tail and dwarfs a standard P-bass case?
