Lead Guitarist a Weasel...

An update ony post...
It seems that the Bass player that they got after I left, has also left the project. His reason, the "Lead Guitarist is a complete A-hole".
He said that the guy is so full of himself and has a Huge Ego.
He mentioned how he constantly kept bringing in new material even though they didnt have previous songs down tight. Said the dude is all about "Himself" and has the "I'm right, You're wrong" attitude.

TY Spidey.
I left out that the Weasel wanted to record some songs and new Bass player said "We're Not ready, they're going to sound bad".
They recorded them anyways, And, they sounded bad. Weasel blamed it on the Equiptment and wanted to re-record them, Bass player said No, they recorded them without him, still sounded bad.
They got a gig lined up at end of March, Weasel said he wants to take the $$$ from the gig and pay his Buddy to Video record the show. So basically they would be playing for free....with that and other issues, Bass player and him got into it. Bassist packed up his gear said F.U. to him, "I'm done" and walked...

I laugh when a golfer or tennis pro eyes their equipment, after a major faux pas... unless it has a mirror on it, I'd tell them to look within themselves...

... I have mirrors on all my equipment...

....

It's always the fault of my equipment.

I don't know how to use it correctly.
I didn't set it up correctly.
I didn't maintain it correctly.
I didn't bring the right stuff.
I'm paying attention to it instead of my playing or band-mates.

Did I miss any?

I came on this thread late but just read through all of it. I LOLed a few times. My take:

- Just because someone posts the original Craigslists ad or recruits the 1st members he is not the defacto band leader.
- It may be different for an established band with gigs and a set song list but start up bands need to be open to input from all members as they come aboard.
- You need to be open to adding new songs. There comes a point of diminishing returns, if after 3 or 4 run throughs if a song at rehearsal is not getting the desired results, an additional 3 or 4 run throughs will not make it better. Shelf that song for the night go on to something else and let people work on it on their own time and pick back it up next time.
- If there is a musician you have a history with and have not gotten along with in the past, you will probably not get along with him this time around either.
- husband wife / girlfriend boyfriend / Girlfriend girlfriend teams are not always the most drama causing entity of the group. IME these duos are usually the most focused or goal oriented and the first to be affected by any BS from the other members.
- There is nothing wrong with Tuna Noodle casserole
