Learning Bass Looking for a 4 string that is a little easier to play

Hello All, Thank you for letting me join the community.

I am just starting out on bass guitar. I have an Ibanez SoundGear SR405 5 string. A good friend of mine has a pretty nice Dean 4 string bass(not sure what the model is). I find I can play the 4 string much better due to the wider string spacing. I am looking at a 1985 Ibanez Roadstar II RB850 4 string made in Japan. I am curious how the string spacing on it compares to my 5 string SoundGear. The 5 string is 16.5mm at the bridge and 10.5mm at the nut. I made this account to see what peoples thoughts are on the RB850's string spacing vs my current SR405's. I cant imagine its not better but either way ill make a post for that in the correct forum.

Glad to be a part of TB!
