LED rope light for rack lighting? How'd ya do it?

I have a four space rack that's got a very black SVT-3 Pro in it. I thought it would be cool to light it with that LED rope/tape light, and it turns out that a guy I went to high school with does lighting now and is sending me a roll of it and a controller for nuthin'. I dunno how I'm gonna mount it, though; I figgered SOMEBODY on Talkbass has already done it. Howya doit?

havent done a rack,...but did my NEO 212 cab,.....used a few spots of super glue on the inside ear of the grill. Worked great, the tape backed led strips tend to fall off, not enough grip for big rumbly bass rigs!

I gorilla glued mine around the edges, and ran a pair if light wire inside for the AC power. I'd load up a pic....but the "browser "thing is goofy tonight

It's cool looking- but gives enough glow to see the controls on a dim stage. Might have had $10 in the whole deal.

this is a close as I have. I ran the wires inside the rack to a wall wart.@ different brands of LEDs

Here is a photo of mine, I'll take a closeup of how I did it and post it as soon as I can.

It is pretty simple though. I took a short red LED, folded it in half, and duct taped it to the bottom of my Furman to which it's plugged in to. When I turn on the rack the lights come on. I start out with a large vented panel, but then you could see the actually see the LED strip. I wanted a backlight effect. So I installed a one space blank panel to hide the light with a one space vented panel below it.

MCM Electronics has all the LED lights, power supplies and mounts you would ever need and at reasonable prices too.

Thanks, it isn't enough on a totally pitch black stage. I pull out the Furman lights and turn the dimmer way down and it works well. just a little bit of light from the Furman combined with the LED glow gives just enough light to make me happy.

I wanted a vented panel for more air circulation and came up with this idea to make it more visually interesting.

Thanks. It does have a remote control to do all kind of neat things & change the color's. Just got to figure it out first
