Left hand dexterity

What does his book cover?
He has several. One on Major modes one on minor modes. Patterns relating to the modes in all 12 keys with tab. His books All the good stuff and All the better stuff focuses on exercises that are like little etudes........deals a lot with chromatic motion and are really musical as well as being good for dexterity. Again covered in all 12 keys with tab. plus if you order from his website there is video that goes with it that shows him playing the examples. I have acquired probably 100 or so books over the last 20 years and his are the ones I actually use. I have Bass fitness and some of the other books mentioned and they are decent but not as good as Janeks stuff in my opinion. good luck.

When you practice agility exercises up and down the neck, think hand position on the neck rather than fingers. Thats something I learned from playing upright that really helped my speed and accuracy.

For example, if you run the diatonic modes of C maj. in arpeggios, the fret positions for 1234 fingering are
II C maj7
V Dm7
VII Em7
VII F7
IX G7
IX Am7
XII Bm7b5
XII C maj7

Cheers

Edit if you play fretless, managing hand position will help your intonation tremendously.
