Left Hand Tech on piano

When I was originally learning piano, it was through taking college classes. I completed two semesters, and was not that bad for a newbie. However, I never got beyond the class room setting of being able to practice scales and chords and a few pieces of music during that year. The next year I broke a bone in my left wrist and pretty much stopped playing. Now, as I try and get back into it a couple of years later, I notice that my left hand technique is rather shotty. My right hand moves quicker, has more muscle memory, more accurate, and just seems better overall. My left hand, I usually need to look at what I am doing with it, I keep it in one position rather than bouncing around.. and the most pathetic thing about this is that I find that good bass lines are hard for me make up on piano.. yet when playing bass I do not have that problem.

So I was wondering if anyone had some good left hand technique, ideas, or anything they would not mind sharing. Thanks in advance! 8)

I also play piano and i find that it is completely different coming up with bass lines on piano than on bass. But as for your left hand, have you ever tried Hanon piano exercises? Their basically just drills for your fingers so i think that could help with your speed and accuracy problems.
