Left-handed bass advice

Greetings,

I'm looking to buy my wife a bass and amp. She is left-handed. I bought her a right-handed guitar several years ago and she could not adapt to it. I'm thinking of buying her a right-handed bass and restringing it for a lefty. That way if she doesn't take to it I can still easily sell it. Any advice on whether others have tried this? Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Being left handed is terrible. Your choices are mostly low end or pretty expensive. Sg's are easy to string upside down because of the shape but something like a p bass will feel awkward upside down.

give a real chance. get her a proper instrument. if it doesn't work out, then sell what you have.
