so after practice yesterday i forgot to turn my amp off, and it was on standby for about 18 or 19 hours until my roommate got to the practice space and noticed it was on.

You didn't hurt the amp, but your speakers are probably toast. They were severely underpowered all that time.

If they were only underpowered by 3dB (the smallest amount of change in SPL that a deaf person can hear), it's possible the drivers will only need a re-coning at some future date.

I was just having some fun, punkrockmike.
There's an often repeated myth that you can destroy speakers by underpowering them.
It rates right up there with low frequency sound needing a certain distance to "develope".

On the serious side (yeah sorry 'bout that) Motorola built "instant-on" color TVs back in the day. The heaters were always on (standby mode), they discovered that after about 5 months of standby only, the cathodes suffered some irreversible poisoning. Manuals recommended unplugging the TV if more than 30 days of non-use was planned.

Over-night your poor speakers (That is a joke by the way ).
