Lefty vs Righty cases

I was looking on the GC website and found a case I want for Xmas:

Invalid Link Removed

Later on I found a lefty version of the case for 50 bucks more

My question is, for the sake of 50 bucks (and i really dig the black/orange color combo) could I fit a lefty jazz bass into a righty Fender case? As far as I can tell, they look exactly the same

Problem you'll have in a non-fitted case like this is your tuners will be on the lower edge, which will cause tuning issues and you may have issues with them bending.

Yeah, but the lefty case is oriented the same way, which confuses me.

Maybe a stock picture that's been used by mistake? I'd expect a leftie to be a mirror of the rightie!

Boy, $50.00 bucks extra for a left-handed case seems a bit much. That really sucks for southpaws.

Check with Elderly Instruments (elderly.com). I bought a lefty case from them. Can't remember the exact price, but I think it was less than what GC wants.

If the interior is not a form fitted body contoured interior, then you'll be fine with a rightey case.

Except when you hold the case by the handle the tuning head keys will be free to bang against the bottom of the case so you'd be wise to add some extra padding to prevent that.
