LEGEND BP1525 with aluminum dust cap?

For the best high frequency results the cap has to be glued directly to the coil former, which means it has to be the same diameter as the coil. Even then it might not make that much difference. The Eminence EPS 15C is more or less an aluminum dome 3015, and the highs aren't that much better, even with a lower Le voice coil.

why do such a hassle with whatever outcome, you could simply add a small 3- oder 4 Inch mid Speaker (a faital or sth like that) with a crossover, I Play a pair of delta-loaded tl606-style cabs with an added 3" faital apiece and These really brigten things up.

I have replaced large caps with small ones directly mounted to the former and the treble did extend further but, the low end changed. I didn't want this to happen with the bp1525. The old job's had a dip around 3I and then came back up from 4k-5I. That can give you bass driver growl with just a little treble tickle or excitement. It would be nice to make that happen.

What you are describing sounds like a JBL K140 or E140. I know that's not what you want, but I hauled around K140's for years and never felt the need for a tweeter, or a mid. Aluminum dust caps do give you that extra nudge in high end, I thought the K140 was the best example of that.

Last night I experimented with stuffing. I have 3 beta 15a loaded into bag end s15d cabs with the ports plugged. The stock dampening material seemed about perfect but, I wanted a comparison so, I added a layer of denim insulation to one cab. The low mid hump was definitely reduced but, it choked the mids and treble too much. So, when I do my build, I'm going to give each driver (beta or bd1525) 1.5cuft total internal volume. This will put the low mid hump a little higher up the range where I want it, while keep the lows right. I'll be going with my original plan of using 5/8" Fiberglass insulation ceiling panels. With either driver, you get a punchy, round sound with good controlled bottom. I can build a small beta 2x15 for $250 from scratch. And, it sounds good!

what is the f3 of the beta in 1.5 cubic feet and the bp in 1.5

have you compared it to the deltalite 11 2515

I gave up on neos but the 2515 sounds similar to the Cb158 both have slightly more highend than the bp driver and sensitivity, on paper atleast I haven't actually heard the bp driver yet

It's too bad eminence discontinued the gamma 15a cause it outperformed the beta. And worked in sealed , drivers going as high as 100 ebp still work in sealed and 3015s actually do fine in sealed at 120ish ebp.
