Hard to say from the photo, but the fingerboard looks really dark, almost like ebony? Not sure JVs ever came with an ebony fb? Perhaps just a very dark rosewood?

Legit? MIJ 82-84 JV Squier Precision

It is for sure rosewood, and it is for sure a legit JV neck. But I have traced the body as being a 90s mim Squier.
I'm wondering if it is worth it still just for the neck? LOL. They sell for quite a bit on eBay, it sounded pretty good plugged in, and the neck felt great...
The J on the plate is not the right typo and the frets look bigger than the original vintage frets...
