i saw the cremona label, but then saw the 1,900 retrail mar, now from what i heard this cant be true

Not much way to tell from the pics. How does the seller know it retails for $1900 but doesn't know the manufacturer? That alone would make me suspicious.

Why would someone sell a bass in excellent condition for $600that retails for $1900? As the old saying goes, if something seems too good to be true it probably is.

I see in your other thread on "renting and starting a DB" you ask...

"... i know i want to rent so that i can have a good starting instrument for cheaper and itll be easier to learn on and encourage me. so here are my questions...

1.how much does renting a good DB usually cost
2.what are some good models and brands to rent
3.will i have enough time to become efficient and DB

You got some good advice in that other thread, none of it said "run out and buy a cheap chinese bass". If you want a "good" DB, then take the time to read the newbie links including the parts on CCB's and how to shop for a bass before you start shopping.

If you are now considering buying, then the minimum for a decent, new plywood instrument will be around $1200. If you're looking for a used hybrid or carved, you sure won't get away for less than that (and will likely have to spend more) unless 1) it is a poor instrument or 2) you stumble upon a rare and incredible deal.

When buying used from a private party, especially if you're not an expert or don't have one with you, it's a good idea to have the sale be contingent on inspection by a qualified luthier.

Oh no no no i wasnt considering buying at all, i just thought i smelled bull so i wanted to see if i was right and id try to warn ppl about that
