legitimate shuttle question

I am pondering buying one of these in a few months.

I don't need 600 watts . At least I don't think I do . Really , I don't need 600 watts. I plan to pair it with a 2X10 cab. BTW , last head I had was a GK 700 RBIII and I loved it . I may even go back that route.

Does the 3.0 sound strictly solid state , lacking warmth ?

Does the 6.0 really blow it away in tone (warmth) due to the one preamp tube?

I don't use any effects and really don't want to buy any just to get added warmth . For that matter I may as well just get the 6.0 as the $$$ difference would be closer.

Has anyone tried both ? Comparison?

Don't know how much this will help as I haven't tried the Shuttle 6.0. I do have the 3.0-10T with the 10T extension cab...so in effect a 2X10. It's very loud...not just for "its size"...loud, period. It sounds quick and modern. The eq is very powerful...and, IMHO, the eq is needed to get a warm sound from the amp. I also have a LMII, which, to me, has an inherently warmer feel to it. I am still learning the Shuttle. The LMII was...like my ThunderFunk...plug and play...it sounded just like I wanted it to right out of the box without any eq. I bought the Shuttle 3.0-10T to slot underneath my LMII/GS112 rig. It does every thing that I could ask of it...and more than I expected going in...but I have had to work a little to find the tones that I wanted.

I just purchased a shuttle 6.0 210T 2 week ago. I have been(and still am on Sunday mornings) a die-hard GK fan.

If you go for a 6.0, I don't see from where I sit, anyway you'd be sorry. I'm really liking this amp.

The tube gives it huge character.

I'm guessing at this point that the 12T and 10T get more attention because they are the most portable.

I'm coming to the realization that the 210T is well worth the trade off of a little extra weight. For a measley 9 more pounds I'm betting I'm moving way more air. I can still pick it up with one hand and run down the street with it.
