Lekato MW-1 Wireless Mic Adapters - Battery Charging

I bought a set of (used) Lekato MW-1 wireless mic adapters about 3 weeks ago, I charged them initially to check that both the transmitter and receiver both worked ok, tonight is the first time I hope to use them at a gig so I thought I’d give them a quick charge to make sure they’re fully charged, and they took as long to charge to full capacity than when I first bought and charged them from flat a few weeks ago (1 hour for the receiver and 2 hours for the transmitter)? I thought lithium batteries held their charge for a considerable amount of time?

Is this normal or could they be faulty? I still have the receipt for them and they came with a 6 month warranty so I could take them back for a refund. They look like new and the charging cable looks hardly used if at all.

I’ve read that the transmitter uses more power than the receiver so I’m not overly alarmed at the difference in charging times for both devices, but double the time for charging?
 
I’m not sure my info is directly applicable, but your question inspired me to check my Swiff Audio wireless 1/4” set as I haven’t used them for about 6 mos. Indeed, both units were completely dead. They seem to be charging up just fine, but I expect will take the normal 1 + hours to completely charge - both units have required about the same amount of charge time in the past.

When I was using them they were good for about 4 solid hours, more if you turned them off between sets. I carry cables :).
 
Well the Lekato MW-1 units got through the whole night without issue although I did very little vocals due to my cold. The units were on continually for 4.25 hours and both were still ok at the end of the night, I did forget to check the green lights to see how much charge they did have left though, will check in the morning.

So they obviously charged ok, we have a gig next Saturday so I’m going to leave charging them until Saturday afternoon. I still feel though that the transmitter uses more power and is why it takes longer to charge that unit.

Very impressed with the Lekato system though, well pleased. 😀

I would try and charge your Swiff units more often, leaving them 6 months could potentially damage the batteries. I think they recommend charging every 2 months if not in use.

Checked the charge left earlier, 75% battery left for the receiver and 50% left on the transmitter. Pretty good and not bad after 4.25 hrs gig.

Over time, lithium ion batteries lose their ability to hold as much charge as they do when new. Longer battery life can be achieved by limiting the depth of discharge (that is, how much you drain them in each use), and by keeping them fully charged.

(At least that's how they were treated on satellites, consumer batteries are the not quite the same but I'm fairly certain that keeping these batteries as fully charged as possible at all times results in longer life span. Limiting how much you drain each time you use them does more to extend battery life, but that's often not practical.)
 
I'm not sure if your Lekatos are the same as my Summinas but I don't have a battery level indicator.

They do run pretty long but the charge interval is pretty slow so I give them overnight...

The Lekato’s have 4 No. LED lights which are for either channel selection/indicator, battery charging lights plus battery capacity indicators (25% charge remaining per lit LED). Charging time is a couple of hours.
