I saw they came out with 2+2 versions and in a “mini” format. But still not reversible
Looks like I’d have to buy two sets, use two out of each set for my inline lefty bass. Then sell the other sets of two together for a righty.
Are you sure the OGT tuners aren't reversible? It looks like they are to me...
If you believe Chicago Music Exchange, they state clearly that the mini-OGT tuners are not reversible. However, they make no such statement about the large ones. That sort of implies that the large OGT tuners are reversible, though not explicitly.

The OGT (Fender style) ones would not, at least not without some drilling. That's assuming that this information I found on Gretsch's site matches your bass?
It looks to me like the BADASS SGT 2x2 set should work. They're sealed and have a single screw per tuner and the Y shaped key. I don't have those in stock at the moment, but I could order a set for you and probably have them to you within 1-2 weeks. Just PM me if you'd like to go down that road.

Could these tuners make a reasonable replacement for pre-74 Rickenbacker 4001s?
There is no reasonable replacement made for them, except one very cheap WD set that doesn't look very good. The screw holes don't even line up.

What's the post size? Could they be used as replacement for old "curley" Rickenback bass tuners pre 74?

In the listing on my website, you can find these specs related to the post size (info provided by Badass, but not confirmed by me).
- Large Post – 14mm zinc post, bushing requires 18mm headstock hole (18.4mm OD)
- Small Post – 12mm brass post, bushing requires 14.5mm headstock hole (15mm OD)
