Les uses a Carl Thompson 6-string fretted and fretless but he's started to lay off on the fretless because its not as fun he reckons. Thompsons are all custom that Carl makes in his apartment also.

Well since you guys told him the basses Les uses, I'll tell what I THINK he uses in the amp category. He uses an ADA MB-1 preamp, plugged into a Mesa-Boogie 400+, going into 2 Mesa-Boogie 215s. Correct me if I'm wrong people!

I read he actually uses an MP-1 preamp, the guitar one. He had it modified so that it is more bass friendly.

Les has used both Ampegs and Mesa's.. no idea what exactly what he uses now.

From what I gather.. Les uses a modified MP-1 but has an MB-1 as a backup.


Yea, that really is too bad about Buckethead. I think he's one of the most interesting musicians out there.

It's my understanding that he uses a MB-1 to record the CDs, then uses the ADA MB-1 AND a MP-1 (for distortion) together.
