Les Paul EB-0 orginal style (not SG) bodied basses

Thank you guys!
I think the Les Paul junior Double Cut version of the early Gibson EB-0 is one of the sexiest bass guitars ever.
And yes, I've used it as an inspiration for many of the Brooks bass guitars that I've built.
They are never a carbon copy, but always a combination of two or three classics. (EB-0 vs 50s P, EB-0 vs 60s Tbird, etc)
I've enlarged the body to keep the proportions right for the 34" scale.

$400 is a great price, if it's any good. It sure looks good. I've seen this guy's axes on local cl for a while, all his guitars are photogenic. I wonder how he can afford all these 'loss leaders'. Maybe he's retired and really does it for love.

The DC Jr is a wonderful little bass. They placed the pickup in the classic sweet spot so it works like a little Pbass , but a shortscale version with a set neck made by Gibson.
Serious fun to play these little rippers.

As you mentioned above the Les Paul Jr Tribute DC sounds like the ticket. The "P" bass location of the pup is a big departure for Gibson and it is an incredible sounding instrument. There is a push/pull coil tap on the volume control and it really adds tonal variations to a single pup bass.

The Gibson EB-11 is another bass worth looking into. Only built as a limited edition back in 2011 but can be found in the 1400.00 to 1500.00 price range. It has the same electronics of the SG Standard bass but sounds very much different. I have both the SG Standard and the EB-11 so this is not just an assumption. It took me a couple of months for me to find this one but, well worth it. The Pelham Blue is to die for IMHO.

A " Les Paul Double Cut" would be the proper terminology for this body style IMHO.

In what way does it sound different than the SB Standard Basses?
