I extended crap vox practice amp into hartke 410's & it sounded halfway decent. I'll take a pic but it's nothing to look at. EQ & preamp is useless on the vox. Not loud at all but loud enough for soft touch & to hear yourself.

What's an at home practice amp? I just use my gigging amp at home. Don't you guys gig, or do you just play at home?

Or do we live on boats or in tiny apartments and leave our big cabs in storage lockers and rehearsal spaces because the damn things won't comfortably fit into our living space?

My home practice rig is a Mackie Tapco 6306 mixer (that actually has killer sounding channel preamps) into an SWR Amplite into a Tannoy V8 1x8 cab. It's also my computer/ipod system.

Can't speak for the others posting here, but I gig almost every weekend. Like many folks here I also have many rigs one of which is pretty much dedicated to home practice - well the cabinet is anyway as it lives under my desk.
Anyway to answer your question a home practice amp is a rig dedicated to home practice, it is not used for rehearsal or gigs.
