I just put the black pick guard back on my Valenti. My concept for this bass was based on a 5 string version of the USA Geddy but 3 years before Fender issued that model.

It's called Black Widow. Fretboard is made of blackwood.

It is 7.5 pounds 32" scale, Pick up is custom made by Eastwood, exactly the same as on K-200. Very vintage sounding bass. Replacing factory strings by Roto Sound 66, lifted the whole thing to the era of Jack Bruce. I am just considering to replace bridge with some Gotoh black, so it comes more into the darkness. Thanks a lot. Just when I thought I was immune to GAS.
That is absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!!! What is the weight and what pickup is in it? 34" scale? Thanks!
Wow. Didn't realise they had sufficient notoriety for a modern-day copy. It's called Black Widow. Fretboard is made of blackwood.

View attachment 2847475 View attachment 2847476 View attachment 2847477 Never thought about it, but I don't have many black instruments. I have a nice black baritone guitar, but you said basses, so... I have a new black bass, but the pictures of it, and some other basses, need editing... So, for the moment, this is what I got. The first one is an '87-'88 Kramer Forum III. It ain't much of a beauty - yet; but it's undergoing major customization at the moment. It will be one when it's finished. The next one is an '81 Kramer Duke Special. Beautiful? Well, you either love 'em, or you don't. I think it looks better in person, when you can see the contrast between the black and the shiny, shiny aluminum neck... The 3rd one? I'd be banished from every Rick owner's forum there is, if I said my '73 Rick 4001 was black; if it's a Rick, it's not black. It's Jetglo...![]()
My latest black bass; 2018 Gibson T-Bird. Contrasts nicely with my Vintage Burst '13 T-Bird, and the Babicz bridge on this one actually does make a difference, viz the traditional 3-pointer on the '13. Which, of course, I have no intention of replacing. I said it was different; didn't say it was better....
Beautiful bass my Friend. Lot of work!!My '15 USA GL, sans pickguard...

... haven't had it out in awhile, noticed the neck with relief I don't remember seeing the last time I had it out, so...
... setup time! Itsy, why didnt you tell me I'd have to remove both the pickguard AND the neck?.
