Painted in genuine nitro by Ben Lindsey of Toledo, Ohio - amazing job on both neck and body - shot super thin and neck tinted to perfection - shipped to me in pieces...my first assembly/set-up/fretdress and beat-up job...it's fun! Lindy Fralin pickup...my God what an awesome pickup...sounds as throaty as my 68 P.

Lake Placid Blue and Black will turn green with age. LPB will almost go forest green sometimes...you really do think its supposed to be that color till you check the serial..

You guys are making me want to refinish my 5'er in LPB vs. Burgundy Mist.

Did you guys notice that the Fender Web site has Lake Place Blue listed as a color for the MIM Standard Precision and Jazz basses, with rosewood or maple necks?

Love those LPBs - here's mine, a "mostly" 1960 P. You know that Johnny Cash song "One Piece At A Time"? This is the bass equivalent. Slab neck, tuners, PUP, trays are 1960, neck plate and the rest of the electronics 1976, the body and nitro finish is a contemporary Gregg Rogers build, the body "cosmetics" done at 30th St Guitars in NYC to match the mojo of the vintage parts. Sorry for the less than stellar pics - I'm a bass player, dammit, not a photographer.
